Since Heavy Armor received some significant, yet needed, buffs in Dark Brotherhood, Medium armor usage has been decreasing at a staggering pace.
We're not too sure if it's because HA is just too good not to use now, or because damage is at an all-time high, so the extra resistance is required to stay alive longer than 6 seconds.
In any case, it's extremely rare you don't come across someone in heavy armor and a shield, unless they're a Nightblade.
We did attempt to interview a Nightblade, however he disappeared and we haven't seen him since. They do that.
I've noticed that even magicka users are running heavy now, except Sorcerers who still benefit from shields.
Dare I say it, but does medium and light armor need a buff? For a long time, medium was pretty much top-dog, but it doesn't seem the case any more. You can even receive weapon damage buffs in heavy now, so it doesn't necessarily mean your damage will be that much lower. With the upgrade to constitution, resource management is barely a problem. To make up for the removal of the Bracing passive, Fortress in the Sword and Shield skill line has been increased.
With great sets like Reactive and Black Rose, it truly seems like Heavy armor is the way forward, unless light and medium are given a small boost.
I would not like to see Heavy armor nerfed to be useless again, but something needs to change or Cyrodiil will be like playing World of Tanks.
